Earthing and Bonding
One day course - new for 2008
The objectives of the course are to ensure that delegates are: fully conversant with the requirements of the Standard; understand the associated theory to enable a complete design to be produced compliant with the standard; are able to completely size and define a full working installation compliant with the standard.
Course topics
- Earthing systems defined in BS 7671 - TNS, TN-C-S and TT;
- Definitions and descriptions;
- Principles of Earthing and automatic disconnection;
- Definitions and practical sizing of:
- Earthing conductor;
- Circuit protective conductors;
- Bonding conductors;
- Supplementary bonding conductors.
- Residual current devices;
- Special locations;
- Practical examples.
The course draws extensively on the IET Guidance Note 8 which is included in the course fee.
