City and Guilds 2392-10

Level 2 Certificate in Fundamental Inspection, Testing and Initial Verification.

Three day course 

The purpose of this course is to give participants the outline experience necessary for the practical inspecting and testing of newly installed electrical circuits and also as theoretical preparation for candidates aiming to achieve City and Guilds 2392-10 (NVQ Level 2).

This three day course will also give candidates aiming to achieve City & Guilds 2391-10 (NVQ Level 3) an excellent foundation.

Required publications: BS 7671: 2008 (red version) and IEE Guidance Note 3 Inspection and Testing (5th Edition).  

Please be aware that you will require a copy of BS 7671:2008 (red cover) for this course. Its full price is £65 but once you have booked on a course with the IET you are entitled to a 20 per cent discount taking the price to £52. You will also require the IEE Guidance Note 3 Inspection and Testing, 5th Edition both of which are referenced throughout the course. Candidates should ideally hold a City & Guilds 2382 certificate or have good working knowledge of the 17th Edition Wiring Regulations.

City & Guilds 2392-10 practical assessment 

• A multiple-choice GOLA - fifty questions, closed book;
• A practical assessment (two hours) (the practical assessment will normally be conducted one week after the course completion date).

Revision and GOLA test

A two and half hour session will be made available and held immediately prior to sitting the GOLA test. There will be a morning and afternoon session which will be assigned by staff of the courses unit.
