Career Manager version 2

The IET is pleased to announce the official release of Career Manager version 2 from May 1 2008.  Driven by IET member feedback, a selection of new options will now be available.

Assessment management

A new tab within Career Manager incorporating two functions:

• Archive assessments
  Archive up to eight professional registration competency assessments, enabling members to easily store details of competence-based evidence during a defined time period.

• Interim verification
  Allowing members to have their competency assessments verified at regular intervals by their mentors, line managers or the IET’s professional registration advisors.
  
  Interim verifiers do not have to be IET members to access a member’s competency assessment and may verify the evidence recorded online.

Development summary reports

Part of the personal development tab this area provides two new options:

• Current development summary
  This section details the objectives, action plans and training that are planned or in progress.

• Development history summary
  This section confirms the objectives that have been successfully completed by a member.

Summary reports may be printed from Career Manager or downloaded as a Microsoft Word document, enabling members to swiftly collate current and completed objectives for review or appraisal with their mentor or line manager.

Highlighting planned objectives to meet personal development as well as project and task based competence and achievements takes only minutes using the summary reports within Career Manager.
