Obligations of endorsed providers

Obligations of endorsed providers.

The IET code of practice for endorsed providers gives guidance to those training providers who are awarded IET endorsement.

Advice is also provided on compliance with:

  • the IET’s terms and conditions relating to brand guidelines
  • using the IET endorsement logo and supplying samples of materials where the logo has been used
  • the way courses are advertised
  • supplying mandatory evidence to support an initial endorsement application, annual monitoring and renewed application at the end of the three year period
  • supplying mandatory information for annual monitoring in the form of contact details for delegates who have provided their consent to be contacted by the IET so that their opinion of the course/event can be sought.
  • availability of a reduced rate place on a course/event relevant to the interests of IET members. Usually used for a member to attend the course/event as a full participant and provide a report to the IET. The financial value of the reduction is set annually at the same time as the fees for this service.

The IET liaises with a senior member of staff from the organisation who is responsible for the course/event programme and also completes the endorsement application form and subsequent annual renewal forms.

The IET endeavours to have three or four IET endorsed training providers, represented on the endorsement panel, who approve all endorsement awards to ensure that it remains in touch with current issues and that the service meets the needs of providers. Contributions that might be required range from offering to be a panel member for two years, to offering a response to an occasional specific question.
