Working in partnership with the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET)
IBM Technical Consultancy Group has established a formal Corporate Partnership with the IET to support its engineering and technical staff by providing professional recognition and continuing professional development.
The Corporate Partnership agreement will provide a formal platform on which to grow and promote professionalism within the IBMs engineering and technical community and marks the start of a period of on-site activity where staff will be encouraged to attend a series of events which will aim to guide employees through the professional registration process.
The IET is the worlds’ largest professional engineering institution offering professional qualifications; Chartered Engineer (CEng), Incorporated Engineer (IEng), Engineering Technician (EngTech) and ICT Technician (ICTTech).
With a membership of over 150,000 professionals, its role is to disseminate information and promote and develop knowledge and professionalism across the global engineering community through a vast array of activities, products and services.
IBM recognises the value of its employees becoming members of the IET which helps maintain the level of their professionalism and facilitate the exchange of knowledge and best practice. The IET covers an extensive and in-depth range of technology areas, providing its members the opportunity to develop their skills and knowledge in new technology areas as their career develops.
