Business partners newsletter
WYKO Industrial Services has established a partnership with the IET.
WYKO and the IET
The partnership arrangement will enable the two organisations to work together to ensure that WYKO’s engineering is enhanced by IET’s services and to influence the quality of engineering employee competence.
The IET will provide a professional framework and support for all the engineering skills within WYKO, they will help us to assess our training needs and work towards a professional development plan that will ensure high quality results for WYKO and at the same time gain wide recognition for the individual skills and competences of our engineering staff.
The partnership signed between WYKO and IET, Alan Thompson, WYKO Group Chairman and Dr Alf Roberts, the former chief executive of the IET, sealed the professional relationship. The partnership provides many benefits to WYKO including the provision of mapping against UK-SPEC requirements for apprenticeships, training programmes for continuous professional career development, and providing mentoring systems. It also offers WYKO opportunities for technical business advancement, promotion of business development opportunities in the UK and Overseas, and structured contact with academic Institutions.
The IET will assess engineering performance against national benchmark standards and encourage employees to join the register of engineering. This investment in professionalism will ensure WYKO maximises its effectiveness in engineering. Our employees will benefit from the development of professional skills and additional recognition that they are achieving the national benchmark standards.
