Just follow the easy steps below.

Choose the appropriate type of membership

Apprentice or student

Usually for individuals working towards a career in science, engineering and technology whether on an apprenticeship scheme or in higher education;

Member TMIET or MIET

To join as a member with designatory letters, you must have achieved a standard of knowledge and understanding and be engaged in an activity relevant to the science, engineering and technology community.

The IET awards two categories of member with designatory letters: 

TMIET (Technician Member of the Institution of Engineering and Technology) which can be adopted by professional technicians;

MIET (Member of the Institution of Engineering and Technology) which can be adopted by professional engineers.

Fellow (FIET)

For individuals who have demonstrated significant individual responsibility and sustained achievement in their profession.
