Service leavers' discount for membership and professional registration

The IET wishes to recognise your contribution to society and assist you at this time.

From September 2011 engineers and technicians leaving the Services can benefit from significant discounted rates for IET membership and professional registration.

Apply for your first year's membership for just £30. You will receive a second year of membership at 50 per cent discount. You will also receive 50 per cent off your professional registration application fee if you apply within the first two years of membership.

Professional registration

Becoming professionally registered as a Chartered Engineer (CEng), Incorporated Engineer (IEng), Engineering Technician (EngTech) or ICT Technician (ICTTech) is highly valued by employers and allows your military skills and experience to receive international recognition.

IET and CTP arrangement

Following the signing of an arrangement between Michelle Richmond, IET Director of membership and professional development, and CTP Director of Training, Liz Taylor in 2010, the IET and CTP are working together to achieve professional recognition of the transferable skills that all ex-military personnel have gained throughout their career.
