What is Graduate Advantage?

Graduate advantage is a membership package to help students during the transition from University to Employment and for upgrading their membership from Student to Member MIET.

The main benefits of Graduate Advantage are that it allows students, preparing for the days after graduation to continue to gain access to all the resources of the IET. In addition it offers assistance and guidance when applying for jobs, and to move up to full MIET status (subject to meeting the member criteria) allowing you to use the MIET letters after your name - all at a rate of £20 for the year after leaving university, a significantly reduced rate at a time when we know you are most likely to be struggling for money.

How much does Graduate Advantage cost?

£20. New members within their final year of studying can sign up as Students on the Graduate Advantage package for only £20. Existing members can sign up to the Graduate Advantage package for only £20 and this amount will be deducted at their next renewal.

What do I get for signing up to Graduate Advantage?

On initial sign up a new member will receive the Graduate Advantage welcome pack which contains: Letter welcoming you to the IET, Job hunting and interview checklist, Career Guide, email alias information and presentation folder. An existing member will also receive a certifying letter confirming their student membership of the IET.

When you have finished your degree and upgraded your membership to MIET (subject to assessment) you will receive a transfer pack containing an MIET certificate, employer awareness pack, details of the Young Professional Buddy scheme and the next steps.
