The IET office started operations in India in 2006, in Bangalore. Today, IET India have over 10,000 members and have the largest membership base for the IET outside of the UK
The vision is to become the most relevant and therefore the most preferred institution for engineering and technology professionals in India.
The IET has formed close partnerships with the academia, engineering and technology organisations and professional bodies with the following objectives:
Strengthen professional development of employees
Set up expert committees to discuss, debate and recommend actions and solutions for the key issues that affect society.
The IET Academic Affiliates programme aims to build on staff and student knowledge and professionalism to create an ever-evolving variety of innovative products and services to enthuse and excite the academic community.
Academic Institutions offering undergraduate and post-graduate engineering programmes become IET Academic Partners when they gain IET's Accreditation for their engineering programmes.
