Conducted by the IET Journals Publisher, this workshop enables students to understand the IET journals publishing process, including IET journals guidelines and impact factors, common reasons for rejection and what an editor/reviewer looks for. Depending on the level of participation, these workshops last approximately 1 hour and provide a good introduction to the academic journals process.
Students will gain an understanding of common reasons for rejection, what the editorial office looks like and what an editor and reviewer looks for. Samples of accepted and rejected papers will be available and advice will be given on particular areas to concentrate on i.e. abstract and references.
