The IET North West Engineering Innovation Awards 2008

The IET is delighted to announce the launch of the North West Innovation in Engineering Awards. In partnership with the Northwest Regional Development Agency (NWDA), the IET aims to recognise and reward innovation in engineering, science and technology across the region.

  

The IET North West Innovation in Engineering Awards 2008 will identify and reward leading innovations in engineering, science and technology from across the region.

Sponsors and supporters

The Awards programme is sponsored by United Utilities plc, EA Technology Ltd and SIRA. Their support, together with the patronage of NWDA has made it possible to launch this first awards programme for the region.

   

 

Presentation event

Culminating in a presentation event on 4th June 2008 at EA Technology’s Business Centre and Energy Innovation Centre at Capenhurst, Cheshire, the recognition and celebration of innovation will place the region on an international stage.

Now open for entries

The North West Innovation in Engineering Awards 2008 are now open for entries. Submitting an entry is straight-forward and we are accepting these until the closing date - Friday 9th May 2008.

About the Award

Successful finalists from this and other regional innovation awards will be encouraged to enter the IET Innovation Awards 2008.

The aims of the Innovation in Engineering Awards are:

  • To recognise and reward innovative organisations
  • To raise the profile and importance of innovation
  • To recognise and reward 'successful' innovation
  • To provide an indirect method of improving business, by providing a framework to encourage organisations to invest in innovation.

Awards will be presented for innovations across in the fields of engineering, science and technology. The categories in the international innovation awards are a good guide to the areas covered by the awards, although this list is not exclusive:

  • asset management
  • built environment
  • control, instrumentation and robotics
  • electronics
  • emerging technologies
  • information technology
  • manufacturing
  • power / energy
  • product design
