National Electronics Council (NEC) Scholarships
What are they?
NEC Scholarships are open to British Nationals who will commence an accredited MEng degree in Electronics, Information Technology and related engineering subjects in the in the next academic year. Applicants must have attained distinction / demonstrated first class level performance in their pre-university studies, and in particular Mathematics. Evidence as to the candidate’s Mathematical abilities should be provided in the candidate's reference. The candidate must have received an offer of a place at university from the date on which the Scholarship begins.
The NEC Scholarships were endowed by the National Electronics Council in 1993 to encourage students to undertake accredited MEng degree courses in the field of Electronics, Software, Computer, Information Technology and related engineering subjects at a United Kingdom university.
Four awards are available annually, two of which will be reserved for students with A Level/Advanced Higher/CSYS or Higher qualifications. A further two awards are available to students entering university on the basis of distinguished performance in a BTEC/SCOTVEC, Vocational A Level (Advanced GNVQ), University Foundation course, or other vocational qualification which will provide automatic entry to an accredited MEng degree. Students holding International Baccalaureate and the Irish Leaving Certificate will also be considered.
Each Scholarship is worth £1,000 per annum and is tenable for the period of an accredited MEng degree course.
