Lord Lloyd of Kilgerran Memorial Prize
What is it?
The Lord Lloyd of Kilgerran Memorial Prize will be awarded to a final year undergraduate student who can demonstrate an interest and commitment to mobile radio and RF engineering, or a candidate who intends to undertake an MSc, MPhil or PhD in mobile radio and RF engineering at a university in the UK. The number and value of prizes are variable depending on the quantity and quality of applications received.
The candidate must be studying an accredited degree course and must agree to undertake final year courses and a project, which are relevant to mobile radio. Alternatively, the candidate should have been a practicing engineer for a minimum of three years. The candidate should specify the postgraduate course to be undertaken and s/he should outline what s/he expects to achieve from the course.
The Lord Lloyd of Kilgerran Memorial Prize has been established through the IET by a group known as the 'Friends of Lord Lloyd' who resolved to commemorate the work of Lord Lloyd in the mobile radio and mobile data field. Lord Lloyd of Kilgerran was formally president of the Mobile Radio Users Association.
