Scholarships
How to apply
- Download an application form from the 'Downloads' section (right hand menu).
- You will be asked to indicate whether you are applying for a 'scholarship for financial need' or a 'prize for excellence': If you expect to achieve a 1st then please select the latter. If you have achieved a 2i (or higher) in your end of year exams and are in financial need then select the former.
- If your exam results are not available prior to the deadline, please either insert your provisional results onto the application form (indicating that they are provisional) or (if applicable) enter the results from your previous end of year exams. Please scan and email us your results notification as soon as the results are available.
- Your referee should ideally be someone who is in a position to comment on your academic ability (e.g. a college tutor) or, where this is not possible, an employer. Candidates with industrial experience or sponsorship should consider submitting a reference from a training supervisor or manager in further support of their application.
- The reference should be submitted separately from the application form. (To detach the referee's section of the form, within Microsoft Word; select 'Tools' and then 'Un-protect document'.)
- An IET award may be held in addition to a Student Loan/EPSRC grant, or similar, and company bursaries. Candidates who are receiving industrial sponsorship should indicate this in their application, stating the value of the bursary.
- Please do not post the form. The form must be forwarded to the following email address by the deadline:
The application form, reference and all supporting documents must be received by the application closing date. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
