Hudswell Bequest Fellowships
Regulations and who should apply?
It is intended that the Fellowships will be used to fund travel necessary to further the research being undertaken and it is not intended that an award should be an aid to maintenance. Applicants are therefore expected to have satisfactory financial security in respect of maintenance and research fees.
The Fellowships are intended to assist members who will undertake study visits of at least one month’s duration.
Applications received for travel already undertaken will not be considered.
Successful applicants will each be required to provide a professional report of up to 1000 words on their experiences and the contribution the award has made to the research being undertaken, which may be published in an IET magazine. Each Fellowship holder will also be required to provide a short synopsis to reflect the benefits obtained which were unobtainable in the United Kingdom, together with a breakdown of the expenses incurred on completion of the visit.
Applications can only be considered if they are submitted through the applicant's Head of Department, who will be invited to comment on the application.
The successful applicant must notify the IET should there be any change to the proposed date of the visit, itinerary or venue.
Decisions, once reached, will be regarded as final and no further correspondence relating to the allocation of awards can be entered into once the results have been announced.
