IET Travel awards

Whether you're looking for funding to enable you to travel abroad and attend an international conference, work in industry or undertake a study tour, the IET offers a variety of travel awards, ranging in value from £350 to £1,000, that will help you to realise your plans!

To apply for a Travel Award, you must be a member of the IET.

J R Beard Travelling Fund (10 awards @ £500 each)
Enables members carrying out career development activities to travel overseas in order to broaden their professional experience.

Hudswell Bequest Travelling Fellowship (4 awards @ £1000 each)
Enables members, who are UK research students, to travel overseas in order to further their research.

The Princess Royal Scholarship (1 award @ £1000)
Enables members to use their professional knowledge and experience in order to benefit an underprivileged community, or similar, in a developing country.

The D H Thomas Travel Bursary (1 award available biennially @ £500)
Enables members to undertake research related to their postgraduate education or professional interests in Europe (preferably Germany) . Available in 2008.

Younger Members' Conference Bursary (2 bursaries per conference @ £350 each)
Enables members carrying out career development activities to present papers at conferences sponsored by the IET.
