Leonard Research Grant
What is it?
The Leonard Research Grant enables exceptional research students to pursue original work in electrical, electronic, manufacturing or related engineering or science disciplines at a UK university. It is hoped the grant will encourage co-operation between industry and the higher education sector and that an industrial organisation will be associated with the work of the candidate.
In 1993, Dr J L Leonard donated a sum of money to assist exceptional engineering graduates who, through financial constraint, might not otherwise be able to undertake or complete postgraduate work leading to a higher degree.
The Grant has a value of £1,000 per annum and is tenable for a period of two years, with discretion for extension to a third year.
