Guidelines

Completion of IET Scholarship and Travel Award application forms

Please note that the Scholarships Committee does not welcome multiple applications and you are therefore urged to make one application. When assessing the applications the Committee takes into account the presentation of each application form. Please note the following guidelines before completing your application form:

  1. The form must be typed – hand written copies will not be accepted.
  2. Candidates must be as informative as possible when submitting the application form.
  3. An academic reference must be provided by a Chartered Member of the IET, Head of Department, Head Teacher or an IET Student Advisor. The referee must be as informative and frank as possible.
  4. The reference should be submitted separately from the application form. (To detach the referee's section of the form, within Microsoft Word; select 'Tools' and then 'Un-protect document'.)
  5. An IET award may be held in addition to a Student Loan/EPSRC grant, or similar, and company bursaries. Candidates who are receiving industrial sponsorship should indicate this in their application, stating the value of the bursary.
  6. Candidates with industrial experience or sponsorship should consider submitting a reference from a training supervisor or manager in further support of their application.
  7. Please do not post the form.  The form must be forwarded to: Email: awards@theiet.org

The application form, reference and all supporting documents must be received by the application closing date. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
