What are they?
The Institution Premium Award (value £2500)
This annual award is open to papers published in IET publications (provided papers of sufficient quality are available). No author may receive the prize more than once.
It was one of the first three premiums awarded by the IET (then the Society of Telegraph Engineers). It was established in 1882 along with the Paris Electrical Exhibition premium and the Fahie premium. At that time its value was £10.
Other premium awards (value £500 each)
The following premium awards apply to papers published in the IET Research Journals between January and December each year. The IET editorial boards will nominate the best papers published during the year, and the winning papers are selected and given the award. Each award carries a value of £500.
