Conditions
- Work submitted must deal with any field of biomedical engineering and is not necessarily exclusive to the United Kingdom.
- The Award is presented for PhD research between the period of July 2006 – June 2008 and must be submitted before the degree is conferred.
- Any contribution by others to the work submitted must be made clear in the application.
Application and Award Process
- For each entry, the attached nomination form must be completed along with an electronic copy of the dissertation. This should be submitted to the IET by 25 July 2008.
- Any student may nominate themselves or be nominated by their academic department.
- Judging will take place during the summer of 2008. The panel of experts who will carry out the judging will be appointed by the Executive Team of the IETs Healthcare Technologies Network.
- Papers will be judged on the originality and quality of their content as well as the writing style.
- It may be decided, at the discretion of the panel, that the award will not be presented in any particular year. The decision by the panel is final and not subject to appeal.
- All entry information will remain confidential.
- The Award will be presented in December 2008 at the IET’s Annual Healthcare Technologies Lecture at Savoy Place, London.
