Engineering and technology chief pays tribute to outgoing IBC chairman
12 September 2008
The Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET), the world’s leading organisation for engineers and technologists, is to pay tribute to the achievements of the outgoing IBC chairman at a special event on Monday.
Michael Bunce OBE, who steps down at the end of September, will be the guest of honour at the Beach Event, hosted by the IET and taking place at the Heineken Terrace, IBC, Amsterdam, on Monday 15 September.
The exclusive event is to be invitation only and hosted by IET chief executive, Robin McGill.
Robin said: “Michael Bunce has been an outstanding Chairman of IBC for the last nine years. Through his direction, the event has grown from strength to strength and is now one of the most highly respected forums in the electronic media industry.
“The IET has a rich history, both in engineering and technology, and in fact our own London offices used to house the headquarters of the world-renowned BBC. As one of the founding members of IBC we felt Michael’s retirement could not go unmarked; he has dedicated nine years service to IBC and it has been a pleasure for us to have worked alongside Michael and his team.”
Out-going chairman Michael Bunce said: “It has been a privilege to work for the industry with an outstanding team of Board members, IBC staff and consultants.”
Those attending the IET event on Monday will also find out what is really inspiring the IET – the world’s pre-eminent engineering and technology organisation. It will provide a great opportunity to network with key industry figures.
The IET is the largest of six organisations which makes up the IBC partnership.
