Savoy Place closed for refurbishment on 19 July. Check this page for news from the project team.
At its meeting in early February 2013, the IET Board of Trustees considered input from Council and the Finance & Investment Committee, before approving the Savoy Place upgrade project to move onto the construction phase. A series of removal and relocation procedures for the building then commenced, ahead of its closure on Friday, 19 July 2013.
Significant progress has been made on the Savoy Place upgrade project since July 2013. Full planning permission being granted by Westminster Council allowed the commencement of the first phase of work on the main project. This entails a strip out of the redundant building services and further surveying.
The strip out is now well underway with the majority of the redundant plant, fixtures and fittings ready to be taken away for recycling.
