IET Savoy Place London

Where is the IET Library?

The Library and Archives are located at Savoy Place in Central London.

Nearest underground stations are Embankment, Charing Cross (5 mins walk) or Covent Garden (8 mins approx.)

Nearest Rail Terminal is Charing Cross Station.

What are the opening hours:

Opening hours are 09:00 – 17:00 GMT Monday – Friday.

The Bookshop is open from 09:00 – 16.45 Monday – Friday for IET book sales and is located within the main library.

Who can visit the Library?

IET members and other UK engineering institution members, such as IMechE and ICE members, may borrow publications that are available for loan.

The Library is open to all members of the general public. Non-members can use our facilities for reference purposes only.

What about visiting the Archives?

The Archives are open to members of the Institution of Engineering and Technology, academic researchers and any member of the public with a genuine research topic. If you would like to visit please contact us first to make an appointment as researcher space is limited. For more information before your visit please see the Using The Archives section on this website.

It is possible to obtain photocopies or scanned copies of archival material, provided that it is in good enough condition to be copied. Please see our Document Supply page for more information, including charges.
