The online catalogue holds detailed lists of collections from the National Archive for Electrical Science and Technology (NAEST), the Special Collection Manuscripts (SCMSS), the Image Collection and the Rare Book and Pamphlet Collection. This service does not include the Institution's own Archives; for information about these or the other collections listed above, please contact the archives.
How can I search the On-line Catalogue?
The Archives are arranged in an hierarchical structure. Either searching or browsing as appropriate is offered at each level. You may search by keyword, reference number or by both of these in a combined search and then view the results of your search.The best place to start searching the on-line catalogue is at the Whole Archive Level. This is used for general searches and for searches to see everything we hold on any subject.
What if I want to see something I've found in the On-line Catalogue?
The Archives are open to members and the public by appointment. If you wish to visit the Archives to see anything you have found in the online Catalogue, please see our contacts and visiting page for details.
What if I want a copy of something I found in the On-Line Catalogue?
You can print the catalogue details from the web screen. If you want a photocopy or a photograph of the archive item itself, please contact us or see our Reprographics services page.
