Family History Research Guide

A guide written to identify the relevant source material held at the IET Archives for family historians to help with their research. Material includes Membership application forms, Institutional records, Obituaries and Biographies.


Michael Faraday Research Guide

An informative guide to the various historical sources available at the IET Archives for the study of the life and work of Michael Faraday. Original records include his correspondence, diaries and notebooks that give accounts of his travels, personal notes and scientific theories.

The IET Archives holds a number of collections relating to electricity supply in the UK in the late nineteenth and twentieth centuries including the records of power stations and supply companies as well as the personal papers of associated individuals.

Power Generation Research Guide

The IET Archives holds a number of collections relating to power stations and power utilities.This guide offers an overview of the main collections relevant to this topic including records of power stations with their plans, photographs and log books of activities, personal papers and correspondence and reports on supply in other countries as well as the UK.



Electrical Accidents Research Guide
