Recruitment Advertising Sales Executive

Job summary

To be responsible for the sale of IET recruitment advertising media and Awards to recruiters and related agencies within the engineering and technology sectors.

A key member of the recruitment media sales team responsible for generating new business and developing existing customers, to maximise recruitment revenue streams across the full range of online, print and event based recruitment media.

The role is office based but with the opportunity to meet with clients on an exceptional basis.

Hours

35 hours per week, exclusive of meal breaks, plus as many as required to fulfill the needs of the post

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • To make a minimum of 15 effective sales calls per day;
  • Responsible for meeting sales call and revenue targets set by the Head of Publishing Sales;
  • Responsible for maintaining effective client records for all clients contacted via the main CRM system;
  • Responsible for identifying sales prospects and new business opportunities by effective monitoring of relevant competitive publications, web sites and events
  • To direct sales effort to specific products or client type/sector as requested by the Recruitment Advertisement Manager;
  • To identify and implement sales strategies appropriate to different products;
  • To work as an integrated member of the sales team, making sales calls, providing detailed information and sales proposals to clients, providing sales leads and liaising with other members of the team where appropriate;
  • To attend appropriate industry events as and when required by line manager;
  • To assist when required with the production of advertisements and digital media;
  • To ensure personal product and industry knowledge is maintained to a high standard;
  • To undertake any other duties and projects at the request of the line manager;
  • To comply with data protection legislation and act responsibly on matters of data disclosure, both internally and to third parties;
  • To be familiar with the Health & Safety and Fire policies for the organisation and to attend mandatory updates where required.

Person Specification

Essential Criteria

  • A self starter, able to work on own initiative, to target and to deadline;
  • A strong verbal, written and face to face communicator;
  • A tenacious attitude with the ability to build effective relationships with clients and colleagues at all levels;
  • Strong negotiation skills;
  • Appreciation of the opportunities for cross selling and the creation of cross media packages;
  • Experience working in a Sales environment.

Desirable

  • Graduate Calibre;
  • Previous experience selling recruitment media solutions.
