Key Markets Programme Manager
Job Summary
Responsible for developing & implementing the strategic plan for delivering a strong, distinctive and competitive product and service offering in each of our key target markets. This will include the adaptation and tailoring of existing products and services as well as the creation of totally new products and services and the associated business case development.
You will lead a number of new or enhanced strategic products and services to market and as such will work closely with all stakeholder areas across the business. This will include strong liaison with all directorates to ensure joined up thinking in our product development activities globally.

Main Duties and Responsibilities(Not necessarily in priority order)
- To develop and implement the five year strategic plan for growing revenue in key strategic markets based on market demand and the IET’s goals strategy & vision.
- To interpret those strategic goals to develop a programme plan for developing new and improved products, services and changes to business processes for entry into new markets.
- To critically analyse in-depth consumer market and customer insight to develop & coordinate the 1-5 year product pipeline encompassing target customers, gaps in the market and product USP’s to sustain a differentiated product position in the market.
- To lead and refine the IET’s understanding of each key market sector requirements to ensure that the IET will provide relevant, competitive and targeted products & services to the key market segments.
- To lead programmes and key projects from design and plan, development, testing through to launch and post project review, liaising with a number of internal departments.
- To build and maintain strong relationships with all internal departments across the IET and work actively with managers to develop a broader understanding of wider business issues and aligning the consumer strategy against product development and operational activities.
- To manage and control project expenditure within agreed budgets
- To monitor, measure and report on activities and provide relevant management information and project management reporting
- To run and attend meetings with other company functions necessary to perform duties and aid business and organisational development.
- To undertake any other duties and projects at the request of the line manager.
- To comply with data protection legislation and act responsibly on matters of data disclosure both internally and to third parties
- To be familiar with the Health and Safety and Fire policies for the organisation and to attend mandatory updates where required.

Person Specification
Essential Criteria
- Significant experience of marketing and product development experience in the engineering and technology sector in a global environment
- Strong track record in leading projects & programmes involving multidisciplinary teams within budget and within timescale.
- Proven experience of developing and implementing strategic plans in a global environment.
- Sound problem solving skills with the ability to innovate and think “outside of the box.”
- Experience of strategic development on a collaborative basis both within an organization and externally.
- Strong interpersonal skills & gravitas with the ability to communicate and build relationships with a diverse range of customers and other stakeholders and to motivate project teams.
- Strong influencing and negotiating skills, with the ability and confidence to drive change and resolve conflict
- Be able to work in multi-disciplined team environments and build working relationships.
- Experience of strategic development on a collaborative basis both within an organization and externally.
- Proven management experience in a relevant environment including service management, or development/marketing, in professional services.
- Educated to degree level or equivalent with a recognised professional business qualification preferably in a Marketing related discipline.
- Sound knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Project, Visio, Outlook and PowerPoint.
Desirable Criteria
- Working knowledge of the IET.
- Formal marketing qualifications
- Formal project management training or qualification e.g. Prince 2; MicroPrince2
- International experience
