Standards Manager

Responsible for managing and developing standards within the Registration activities of IET, to include CEng, IEng, EngTech and ICTTech. To manage related processes such as Appeals, Quality Audit (internal and external), the Registration and Standards website and all promotional materials and provide guidance for presentation of standards in training (staff and members). Manage the Quality Assurance Committee and related activities.

To provide guidance in relation to standards related activities undertaken by the Registration and Standards staff and Registration Volunteers.

Digital Content Editor

To write, edit and prepare for publication new items and articles for Engineering and Technology Jobs as well as the potential for contributing editorially to other E and T brands. To provide support to the Advertisement Operations Manager and Recruitment Advertisement Manager in the upload, management and effective delivery of digital listings and advertising campaigns across the IET digital portfolio.

Sector Head - Design and Production

Develop, articulate and implement the sector strategy in collaboration with the sector executive, aligned with the IET strategy. Work with IET departments (Policy, Publishing, Events, Communities, Membership and Professional Development), members and external stakeholders to develop business opportunities aligned with sector topics. Introduce key industry and academic figures into the IET to assist with the development of sector topics. Deliver a programme of outputs and activities to progress thinking, generating tangible impact, and raise the relevance and profile of the IET around sector topics.

Head of the IET CPD Academy

The Head of the IET CPD Academy will work across a range of functions to identify and work with key stakeholders to understand ongoing and future capability needs of practicing engineers. Then using their knowledge of how adults learn to propose, develop and launch the IET CPD Academy - including the business models and technical solutions associated with it.

Senior Engineer

There are two key parts to this role:

  • To support the work of JPEL/64 by undertaking managerial and secretarial duties for that committee and its subsidiary Panels in the further development of BS 7671 in liaison with BSI. Duties will involve:
    • Planning schemes of work, organizing meetings, preparing agendas, issuing minutes, distributing documents and preparing draft responses to IEC and CENELEC enquiries, as necessary and to carry out the actions as agreed at those meetings.
  • To support the IETs charitable remit and enhance its standing in industry through the dissemination of information. Duties will involve:
    • Identifying new areas for which IET guidance and support materials can be developed, working within the processes to develop content and publish in different media;
    • The provision of information and guidance to IET Members, others in industry and the general public on matters relating to BS 7671, by telephone, email or in writing;
    • To represent the IET as a speaker at external events, on external committees and to support the technical work of Stakeholders.

Communities Development Manager (12 month fixed term opportunity)

This is one of two Communities Development Manager roles within the Communities team, which together share responsibility for the management and the development of the IET’s portfolio of local and technical networks, and the IET’s online collaboration platform - MyCommunity. The roles direct the work of the international Community Development team, sharing line management responsibilities (each has direct line management of c.5 people). The roles help provide leadership and proactive strategic support in order to enable IET communities to fulfil their potential. They help to ensure that the work of the staff team, and the focus of the volunteers, is aligned to the priorities emerging from the Community Resourcing Committee and five regional Communities Committees.

Principal Policy Advisor - Energy

To provide expert understanding and analysis on a wide range of engineering policy issues of interest to the IET, including preparing submissions, producing technical guidance to members of the public, preparing technical reports for publication and supporting policy advisory groups on specialist topics.

Recruitment Advertising Sales Executive

To be responsible for the sale of IET recruitment advertising media and awards sponsorship to recruiters and related agencies within the engineering and technology sectors.

A key member of the recruitment media sales team responsible for generating new business and developing existing customers, to maximise recruitment revenue streams across a range of online, print and event based recruitment media.

The role is office based but there may be the opportunity to visit clients on an exceptional basis.

Indexed Content Indexer (Computer Science or Control Engineer)

To work as part of the content selection and sampling team, with responsibility for an agreed set of subject areas, ensuring that the appropriate reviewing, selection, and indexing of material is completed for the Inspec Database and its derivative products.

Business Development Executive

To pro-actively generate new business into Savoy Place and target lapsed business using a variety of means that may include, but not be limited to, calling lapsed clients, cold calling potential new clients, making sales appointments with interested parties & conference agents, and following up all leads generated by sales exhibitions.

To manage and convert all potential new business into Savoy Place; though effective relationship building and with excellent negotiation skills, whilst ensuring a thorough handover to the event co-ordination team. To assist with delivering the venues annual and monthly budgeted income.

Regional Sales Manager

Responsible for proactive customer acquisition and new business development within the EMEA region, with both direct and indirect customers and partners. Exemplary management of the sales cycle with prospects and customers. Working with the Account Development Manager and Sales Operations team to ensure effective sales development from lead generation to closed won solution.

Principal Policy Advisor
