To provide expert understanding and analysis on a wide range of engineering policy issues of interest to the IET, including preparing submissions, producing technical guidance to members of the public, preparing technical reports for publication and supporting policy advisory groups on specialist topics.

The core activity is to support the work of JPEL/64 by undertaking secretarial and managerial duties for its subsidiary Panels and the further development of BS 7671, in liaison with BSI.

Working within the Publishing Marketing team with a focus on a particular allocated product area, the post holder is responsible for working with product owners to support and assume some responsibility for the implementation of marketing campaigns and projects for IET publishing products.

This opportunity is to work on developing a key activity under one of the IET’s priority topics – Cyber Security, and work with and support the existing small team of staff and volunteers to develop, co-ordinate and implement a recently approved project to build a Cyber Security Skills Alliance.

To ensure the IET complies with existing regulations (including PCI-DSS, Sales of Goods Act and Data Protection) and internal policy and that new regulatory developments (that would impact the IET) and requirements are incorporated into the IET’s policy and procedures.

Overall responsibility for the content acquisitions activity and portfolio development across content types including Books, Journals, Inspec, conferences.

To oversee the operations of the Indexed Content Team, ensuring maximum production efficiencies are achieved.

To plan and direct all technology related aspects of the IET’s product and content development projects.

The role of Development Manager is to manage the IET Development teams based in Stevenage and to work with external vendors on the technical execution of development projects.

To support the Indian operations, with a particular focus on member relations and communities, ensuring that robust processes are in place and that staff have the appropriate knowledge and training to carry out their roles.    

To be responsible for the sale of IET recruitment advertising media and Awards to recruiters and related agencies within the engineering and technology sectors.
