Duty Manager

To assist the senior duty manager with the mobilisation and all operational functions associated with the day to day management of the building while delivering a 4* service to all users of IET London: Savoy Place. The role encompasses conferencing and banqueting plus hard and soft facilities management responsibilities. Fulfilling the duty manager rotas to ensure appropriate coverage at all times.

AV Technician

Responsible for supporting the AV manager to provide audio visual and production services to all users, providing ideas and technology that inspire great meetings and events at IET London: Savoy Place. To co-ordinate the resources between the two lecture theatres and 19 associated meeting rooms to include fixed and mobile equipment.
 
Liaise with each client prior to using the venue to ensure a full understanding of their requirements and event objectives. Offer advice and guidance regarding the optimal equipment & support solution to deliver exceptional customer service every time.

Student Coordinator (12 month fixed term opportunity)

A central point of contact and coordination for student activity across the IET, ensuring strong links and communication channels for staff and volunteers. Collate information associated with existing student communities and related activities around the world, and help facilitate communication to these groups about relevant products, services and opportunities within the IET. Help to identify new methods of interaction with students that will enable the IET to fulfil its strategic aims and objectives relating to student engagement.

Senior Porter

To assist the Operations Manager with the mobilisation and all operational functions associated with the day to day operation of the building while delivering a 4* service to all users of IET London: Savoy Place.

To follow the daily and weekly booking sheets and supervise all room set-ups and manual handling requirements with the Team.

To manage the Porters Team, the writing and implementing of appropriate rotas according to the needs of the business. This position is 5 days out of 7 on a rota basis.

Communities Marketing Executive (fixed term contract to cover maternity cover)

To support the Communities Department by developing and implementing marketing best practice to help deliver excellent communications and promote communities’ activities to existing and new audiences.

Digital Content Executive (25 hours per week)

To control, coordinate and maintain the content on all digital displays & signage throughout IET London: Savoy Place, ensuring it is engaging, informative and accurate at all times. To use the digital displays to enhance the visitor experience to the venue for all members and guests by ensuring that all digital signage, marketing screens and exhibits have maximum impact possible. To work closely with IET teams to promote their work and success’s through the venue.

Head of Sales, EMEA

To manage and grow sales of the Knowledge Services publishing portfolio (books, journals, technical standards, digital resources) globally. Meet specific targets set for sale of digital resources in UK and continental Europe, Middle East and Africa.

Events Supervisor

Under the guidance of the Senior Events Supervisor, prepare and equip all conference and meeting rooms according to client requirements, ensuring that the IET Health & Safety Policy and Fire Regulations are observed. To monitor the maintenance of Audio-visual equipment, fixtures and fittings and ensure their correct operation.

Web UX Front End Developer

The role is to provide support and development effort for the delivery of new and existing IET websites. You will work as part a project team to deliver work as directed by your manager and the business. Working with the CMS and the ASP .NET framework to deliver websites, implement changes and functional code. As well as providing support to the Digital Services team to deliver all digital projects and activities, as defined by the Digital Roadmap.

Lead User Experience Architect

The Lead User Experience Architect will be play a key role in the development of the  design, specification, user experience and delivery of the IET’s websites, products, services and digital portfolio, both existing and new. As well as providing support to all digital projects and activities, as defined by the project portfolio and Digital Roadmap, and will contribute to the long-term web and digital development plans of the IET.

Sector Head - Design and Production

Develop, articulate and implement the sector strategy in collaboration with the sector executive, aligned with the IET strategy. Work with IET departments (Policy, Publishing, Events, Communities, Membership and Professional Development), members and external stakeholders to develop business opportunities aligned with sector topics. Introduce key industry and academic figures into the IET to assist with the development of sector topics. Deliver a programme of outputs and activities to progress thinking, generating tangible impact, and raise the relevance and profile of the IET around sector topics.

Head of the IET CPD Academy

The Head of the IET CPD Academy will work across a range of functions to identify and work with key stakeholders to understand ongoing and future capability needs of practicing engineers. Then using their knowledge of how adults learn to propose, develop and launch the IET CPD Academy - including the business models and technical solutions associated with it.

Senior Engineer

There are two key parts to this role:

  • To support the work of JPEL/64 by undertaking managerial and secretarial duties for that committee and its subsidiary Panels in the further development of BS 7671 in liaison with BSI. Duties will involve:
    • Planning schemes of work, organizing meetings, preparing agendas, issuing minutes, distributing documents and preparing draft responses to IEC and CENELEC enquiries, as necessary and to carry out the actions as agreed at those meetings.
  • To support the IETs charitable remit and enhance its standing in industry through the dissemination of information. Duties will involve:
    • Identifying new areas for which IET guidance and support materials can be developed, working within the processes to develop content and publish in different media;
    • The provision of information and guidance to IET Members, others in industry and the general public on matters relating to BS 7671, by telephone, email or in writing;
    • To represent the IET as a speaker at external events, on external committees and to support the technical work of Stakeholders.

Principal Policy Advisor - Energy

To provide expert understanding and analysis on a wide range of engineering policy issues of interest to the IET, including preparing submissions, producing technical guidance to members of the public, preparing technical reports for publication and supporting policy advisory groups on specialist topics.

Indexed Content Indexer (Computer Science or Control Engineer)

To work as part of the content selection and sampling team, with responsibility for an agreed set of subject areas, ensuring that the appropriate reviewing, selection, and indexing of material is completed for the Inspec Database and its derivative products.

Indexed Content Indexer (Physics)

Business Development Executive

To pro-actively generate new business into Savoy Place and target lapsed business using a variety of means that may include, but not be limited to, calling lapsed clients, cold calling potential new clients, making sales appointments with interested parties & conference agents, and following up all leads generated by sales exhibitions.

To manage and convert all potential new business into Savoy Place; though effective relationship building and with excellent negotiation skills, whilst ensuring a thorough handover to the event co-ordination team. To assist with delivering the venues annual and monthly budgeted income.

Regional Sales Manager

Responsible for proactive customer acquisition and new business development within the EMEA region, with both direct and indirect customers and partners. Exemplary management of the sales cycle with prospects and customers. Working with the Account Development Manager and Sales Operations team to ensure effective sales development from lead generation to closed won solution.
