Data Process Manager
Job Summary
Reporting to the Marketing Insight and Analysis Manager and working in close liaison with the whole organisation to ensure there is accurate, clean and fit-for-purpose data to drive and support the IET’s strategic goals

Main Duties and Responsibilities (not necessarily in priority order)
- Create and develop the data strategy for the IET
- Create and develop the strategy and plan for customer data collection and oversee its ongoing implementation
- Ensure data integrity across the organisation by creating, defining and implementing data standards
- Provide expert advice on Data Protection (including ownership of the IET’s Data Protection Policy) and ensure organisation-wide compliance
- Develop and maintain the IET’s Data Protection Policy
- Ensure adherence of all staff to agreed data standards
- Work closely with the Information and Business Systems department to ensure effective policies are in place covering data standards
- Develop and define effective processes for data cleansing and deduplication with input from key stakeholders
- Develop, and oversee implementation of, a data migration strategy which focuses on the IET’s move to Darwin
- Manage returned mail and make recommendations to the organisation on how to reduce the number of returned items
- Ensure data capture points are compliant with IET Policies
- To undertake any other duties and projects at the request of the line manager
- To be familiar with Health & Safety and Fire policies for the department and to attend mandatory updates where required

Person Specification
Essential
- Educated to degree level or equivalent with relevant work experience in a data driven environment
- Experience of developing and driving data strategies
- Experience of working in a multi-functional organisation
- Ability to identify problems
- Strong analytical problem solver
- Confident communicator
- Proven ability to develop procedures
- Strong analytical ability
- An in depth understanding of the Data Protection Act 1998 and the Privacy and Electronic Communications (EC Directive) Regulations 2003
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels, both verbally and in writing
- Ability to organise and prioritise workload and to work to minimum supervision
- Excellent IT skills, particularly MS Word, Excel, MS Outlook and email
- Must be able to work effectively and positively in an environment of constant and rapid change
Desirable
- Experience of working in a membership or service organisation
- Experience of monitoring Data Protection compliance
