Corporate Accounts Manager (Armed Forces)

Account management of IET Armed Forces (AF) and Corporate Partners; co-ordinating, promoting and selling the benefits of membership, professional registration and other IET products services activities across key businesses nationally.  Resulting in the maximisation of membership recruitment revenue whilst increasing the market penetration through engagement and account management.

Reports to: National Partnership Manager

Accountable to: Director of MPD

Hours: 35 hours per week, exclusive of meal breaks, plus as many as required to fulfill the needs of the post

Location: Michael Faraday House, Six Hills Way, Stevenage

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • To implement strategy for the account management of existing and potential AF and Corporate partners;
  • To achieve agreed annual membership recruitment and registration application targets and to develop appropriate tactics to achieve objectives;
  • To be responsible for the maintenance of the MPD AF membership recruitment and registration pipelines and provide accurate reports as required;
  • Working with the Account Managers and Regional Development Managers to ensure a consistent approach across companies and the Armed Forces;
  • To provide effective account management raising awareness of the full range of IET Products and Services and the successful planning and implementation of activities;
  • To liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the synchronisation of AF membership recruitment and registration activities;
  • To record all account activity on the CRM System (Microsoft Dynamics);
  • To work with the Partnership Communications Co-ordinator to create internal communications plans for each account;
  • Attend external meetings to build relationships with key stakeholders;
  • Manage relevant budget as directed by National Partnership Manager and assist with the development of the annual business planning;
  • To continuously review processes and procedures to support partners;
  • To undertake any reasonable duties and projects as requested by the National Partnership Manager;
  • To travel throughout  the UK regularly and occasional overseas travel;
  • To undertake training as required performing the role;
  • To be familiar with the Health and Safety and Fire policies and to attend mandatory updates where required;
  • To comply with data protection legislation and act responsibly on matters of data disclosure both internally and to third parties.

Person Specification

Essential Criteria

  • Educated to Graduate level or an equivalent level of competence;
  • Confident in dealing with people at all levels internally and externally;
  • Proven Business Development;
  • Experience in a customer facing environment;
  • Experience in account management;
  • Excellent team-working, interpersonal and coordinating skills;
  • Excellent communication skills – written, oral and presentational;
  • Ability to time manage and prioritise;
  • Good level of IT skills – Microsoft Office;
  • Willingness to travel and work irregular hours as required.

Desirable

  • Knowledge of the AF and defence sector;
  • Experience within a membership organisation.
