I'm afraid I find the new plethora of GIF panels which persistently distract with their frequent and sudden transitions quite annoying and actually uncomfortable when trying to focus on credible content elsewhere in the page. Would it be possible to eliminate them or at least reduce the frequency of and slow and smooth the transitions? This is no longer a credible place to visit. It's more like a fairground. Peter Warr |

peterwarr - could you clarify to which GIFs you are referring? I had not noticed a significant level of animated GIFs in the user images that Nimer mentions. Or are you referring to advertisements?
Our hope is that most members and others will post real photographs; this is a membership organisation, and the idea is to allow members to connect with each other, which is helped by being able to put a face to a name. However, we realise that not all users will want to do that. Of course, you may find my photograph annoying Regards ------------------------- David Rossall The Institution of Engineering and Technology |
