Integral earthing is a system for earthing HV plant via the switchgear.
The main earthing types are; Transfer earthing, the circuit breaker is transferred to another position ie BB earth or circuit earth and closed. Extension earthing, a device is fitted to the circuit breaker which is then racked in and closed. Portable earthing, prods are inserted into the spouts after being connected to earth. Integral earthing, built in earth switches. Get your self a copy of the HSE booklet 'Keeping electrical switchgear safe' its about a tenner and describes all the basics. |
