We were sent to inspect a vendor supplied JNarshallung box at work today... The label stated EXe but on the bottom of the door was a stamp reading EX nA. I was just wondering which rating would be correct and why have two

The only way you can know for certain is to get a copy of the Atex certificate. I would suggest you note down the certificate number and look it up on line. |

I would think that you have an EExe enclosure that then has had EXna equipment fitted inside. na equipment is for zone 2 use and is non sparking in normal use. Without knowing what is fitted cannot help much more

If you are a supplier or manufacturer of equipment intended to be used in potentially explosive atmospheres or if you import such equipment into the European Community you will be subject to the ATEX 100A Directive.
