Are there any minimum distances that must be met seperating the cooker gas hob from its hood?
I can't find anything myself, Section 422 seems to let you use your own judgement. Does anyone use a rule of thumb on this? Normally I like to install them as far appart as possible (or if that looks ridiculous as far appart as aesthetics allow), however I have just looked at a job and the ducting for the hood is only about 3 foot above the hob, so the hood would be even closer than that. I would be greatful for any advice. Thank you |

With a gas hob, the answer to this one is more likely to be found in some of the gas regulations.

You'll find this information in the Electricians Guide to the Building Regulations (Green Book)
